In zone 6a, the last spring frost usually comes around Apr 22 and the first fall frost around Oct 15. Here is when to plant figs.
Note: winters in zone 6a are usually too cold for figs to survive outdoors. Grow it in a large pot and move it into a garage or indoors for winter.

- Apr 29: Plant figs in the bed (first harvest next year)
Hardy outdoors in zone 7 and warmer. In colder areas, grow it in a big pot you can move indoors.
